Los Angeles – Global law firm K&L Gates LLP welcomes Ferry Lopez as a partner in its Labor, Employment, and Workplace Safety practice. She joins the firm’s Los Angeles office from Hirschfeld Kraemer LLP.

Lopez concentrates her practice on a broad range of employment issues at the local, state, and federal levels. She primarily represents employers in various matters related to human resources management, including pay equity, compliance, payment of wages, reasonable accommodations, exemptions, terminations, and workplace investigations. Her clients span across industries, including hospitality, health care, banking and finance, fashion and retail, information technology, professional employer organizations, and staffing.

Lopez’s practice focuses on employment trial litigation and includes the defense of actions arising out of alleged violations of federal and state anti-discrimination and harassment laws, as well as class, collective, and representative actions arising out of alleged violations of federal and state wage and hour laws. She also represents management in bargaining and labor arbitrations. She has successfully represented employers before a variety of administrative and governmental agencies including the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Civil Rights Department, and the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.

Gene Ryu, a leader of the firm’s Labor, Employment, and Workplace Safety practice area, commented: “Ferry is a welcomed addition to our global Labor, Employment, and Workplace Safety practice who increases the prominence of our growing Los Angeles-based team. Her experience advising and litigating in California spans a broad range of industries including complex traditional labor issues, and we are excited for her to continue to expand her practice at the firm.”
