Employment Disputes

Our management-side Employment Disputes practice consists of seasoned, practical, and cost-conscious trial lawyers and litigators who work with employers to effectively resolve employment disputes and implement strategies to increase the likelihood of a favorable outcome when cases do go to trial.

We handle all types of disputes, from defending against individual claims to class and collective actions, including retaliation, discrimination, harassment, whistleblower claims, unfair dismissal, bullying, noncompetition agreements, employee benefits, leave entitlements, complex wage and hour class actions, and underpayment claims.

With an Employment Disputes team across five continents, our lawyers can provide global legal advice and counsel.

Employment Litigation and Trials

When disputes cannot be resolved without litigation, we have the required experience needed to effectively represent employers in court and arbitrations. Our trial lawyers defend all types of employment litigation in all forums worldwide.

Restrictive Covenants in Employment Contracts

In today’s information-based global economy, our global footprint coupled with our lawyers’ technical sophistication distinctly positions us to litigate employment matters involving considerable intellectual property rights, critical business confidentiality, or the protection of other business interests across all jurisdictions. We work closely with our clients to develop strategies to protect their workforces and business information. Our Employment Disputes practice prosecutes and defends lawsuits seeking injunctions to enforce restrictive covenants (including noncompete and nonsolicitation agreements) and to protect trade secrets from employee theft.

Harassment and Discrimination Claims

Our lawyers defend claims for discrimination, harassment, and victimization based on gender, race, disability, sexual orientation, religion, age, and other characteristics protected by law. We also help clients implement any needed changes to their policies, practices, and procedures resulting from the defense of such claims.

Whistleblowing

We defend claims by employees asserting whistleblower status under myriad state and federal laws. We assist employers in developing internal policies to minimize such claims and ensure that a favorable record is available when claims ensue.

Leave Laws

The complex and varied leave requirements faced by global employers have proven to be fertile ground for employee claims. Our team has extensive experience across jurisdictions in defending employee claims that they have been denied entitlements or that they have been retaliated against for taking leave.
