K&L Gates Triage: Ride Sharing and Health Care Regulatory Considerations

Date: 17 April 2018
Triage

Transportation is often cited as one of the top barriers to health care for individuals in the United States. To reduce this burden and increase access to care, many health care providers are now partnering with ride-sharing companies such as Uber and Lyft to arrange non-emergent transportation to and from scheduled appointments. In this episode of Triage, Kenneth Kennedy discusses some of the major issues and potential risks that providers must consider when implementing these ride-sharing programs, including health information privacy and compliance with federal fraud and abuse laws.

About Triage
Triage: Rapid Legal Lessons for Busy Health Care Professionals has been created by K&L Gates to convey information about developments in health law through short podcasts.

If you work in the health care industry, you have grown accustomed to frequent changes in laws and regulations. On some days, it may seem like an insurmountable task to keep up with every change, especially as a new presidential administration and new policies take shape.

The K&L Gates Health Care Practice will regularly create Triage podcasts to help you learn about the latest developments in health law. Our lawyers will identify the most important changes and analyze the impact of these changes on our clients.
