Jin To is an associate in the firm's Labor, Employment, and Workplace Safety practice. She has a broad experience in counseling clients through day-to-day employment issues, including but not limited to terminations, requests for accommodations, restrictive covenants, and paid sick leave. Moreover, Jin has experience in advising and counseling clients on employee handbook policies, such as policies on anti-discrimination and harassment, vacation, paid sick leave, drug testing, and background checks. Jin also regularly advises clients regarding complex labor and employment issues stemming from mergers and acquisitions, particularly clients within the healthcare industry.
Additionally, Jin represents clients in litigation matters brought before federal and state courts, as well as administrative agencies, in wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and employment-based tort disputes, including a class action, single-plaintiff litigation, and agency proceedings. She has experience in collective bargaining with labor unions, and has successfully assisted clients with obtaining collective bargaining agreements.
Outside of Chicago, Jin is also barred in Nevada. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, and having family members working in the casino industry, Jin is familiar with the local culture and employment issues in Nevada, such as wage and hour concerns and restrictive covenants.
Beyond labor and employment issues, Jin represents clients in complex commercial litigations. She has conducted a bench trial on a commercial litigation relating to breach of fiduciary duties and breach of contracts.
Within the larger legal community, Jin is the chair of the Chicago Bar Association Young Lawyer Section Women In Law Committee, a member of the Chicago Bar Foundation’s Young Professional Board, and a member of the Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firm’s Associate Board. She is an active member of the National Employment Law Council’s Chicago chapter and a recurring attendee at the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association annual conferences.
