Beijing
In 2004, we opened our Beijing office to assist multinational clients with a broad spectrum of domestic and cross-border legal issues and to provide strategic counseling for clients regularly interfacing with Chinese regulators and governmental bodies.
Lawyers in our Beijing office are fluent in English and Mandarin and have a deep understanding of Chinese markets, with sector experience in consumer products, energy, financial services, health care, higher education institutions, manufacturing, real estate, technology, and transportation and logistics.
Combined with our fully integrated global network, our lawyers in Beijing seamlessly advise:
- Multinational clients on their PRC inbound investments and operations, including antitrust and competition, asset management, intellectual property protection, labor and workplace safety, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital, and policy and regulatory-related issues;

- International nongovernmental organizations on their PRC-based philanthropic endeavors.

Great attention to detail while keeping the big picture in mind.
Aware of what terms impact clients’ business most and prioritizes effectively.
K&L Gates' Greater China IP team is the first port of call for companies requiring brand protection. Drawing on the firm's IP Agency in China, as well as its trademark and patents groups in Japan and Hong Kong, the team is well-versed in patent litigation, Section 337 investigations before the US International Trade Commission (ITC), and portfolio development matters in the US, Asia, Australia and Europe.
K&L Gates is very commercial and good at giving clients constructive suggestions when the deal is in dilemma. The legal skills of its team are comprehensive and, at the same time, very specialized.
