Institutional Investors
Our Institutional Investor group has a wealth of experience representing sovereign wealth funds, public and private pension funds, institutional investment consultants, health care systems, universities, cultural institutions, and endowments and foundations. Our focus gives us comprehensive knowledge of the issues that concern investors with significant fiduciary and regulatory responsibilities and duties, and our exposure to regular deal flow provides a full understanding of the current market for terms applicable to alternative investments.
We represent a broad range of clients on investments in private markets funds, including private equity, debt, venture capital and hedge funds; real estate investments, such as direct investments, REITs, and other funds; liquidity funds; separately managed accounts; and co-investments. We also advise on other investment matters, such as advisory and custody agreements, and on internal governance matters, such as fiduciary and conflicts issues.
Our Institutional Investor group works to analyze market trends, legal developments, and investor collaboration from the perspective of our clients. Our lawyers are familiar with the full range of legal issues that arise with financial services and investments, and they are regularly asked to bring their collective experience to bear on novel and challenging issues.
Our experience with a variety of institutional investors throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Middle East gives us a comprehensive, global understanding of the issues that concern our clients. Our Institutional Investor group collaborates closely with the firm’s investment management practice and is supported by our global platform of more than 40 offices on five continents. We are supported by—and coordinate effectively with—colleagues who focus their practices on tax, ERISA, real estate, regulatory matters with the SEC and CFTC, performance advertising, trade secrets, bankruptcy, derivatives, securities financing transactions, securitizations, financing, and international transactional matters.
