Spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF approvals in the United States and Hong Kong, along with other major markets, are enticing investors of all stripes to hop on the virtual asset trading and business band wagon. With global investor interest and investment rapidly increasing in these new (and legally novel) assets, we have put together a master class to help you roadmap your way to success.

Our Hong Kong lawyers Jay Lee, Scott Peterman, and Sarah Kwong will discuss the following topics:

  • The legal recognition of virtual assets as property;
  • Cross-jurisdictional issues on protecting legal rights;
  • Practical aspect in enforcement actions;
  • Key recent cases in Hong Kong;
  • Key recent cases in other jurisdictions;
  • Common legal and dispute issues involving cryptocurrencies and virtual assets; and
  • Recommended best practices to protect yourself and your virtual assets.

We will be hosting the same event on 18 July (Thursday) and 25 July (Thursday). This event is CPD and CPT certified. It will begin with a 30-minute networking session, with light lunch refreshments provided. The seminar will begin at 1:00 PM (HKT).

In addition to the master class, we will compile short briefings to help you stay abreast of the latest legal developments impacting the virtual asset industry in Hong Kong and other key jurisdictions. Please register your interest in the RSVP form even if you cannot attend.
