Stacey G. Chiu

Stacey Chiu is an associate in the firm’s Labor, Employment, and Workplace Safety practice, where she advises and represents employers across a wide range of industries including hospitality, technology, and manufacturing. She helps clients address employment law challenges, mitigate risks, and resolve disputes effectively.

Stacey’s experience includes defending employers in class actions, Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) matters, single-plaintiff lawsuits, and administrative proceedings. She handles wage and hour disputes involving claims of unpaid wages, off-the-clock work, expense reimbursement, and service charge issues, as well as allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination under the California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA).

In addition to her litigation practice, Stacey provides advice on employment law compliance, conducting workplace investigations and wage and hour audits to help clients manage compliance risks. Her counsel also covers protected leave, reasonable accommodations, employee policy development, classification matters, and payroll setup. Stacey’s focus is on providing practical, business-oriented guidance in response to California’s evolving employment law requirements.

Before joining the firm, Stacey practiced employment law at several national firms, gaining extensive experience in litigation and client advising. She has a strong foundation in legal writing and research, having served as a teaching assistant in the Legal Writing and Research Department at a San Francisco-based law school and as senior articles editor for the school’s law review.

Prior to law school, Stacey lived and worked in Honduras, where she led a women’s development non-profit and taught at a bilingual high school. This experience provided her with a broader perspective and practical leadership skills that continue to shape her client-centered approach today.
