Shawn Hogue focuses his practice on commercial disputes and has extensive experience working in complex commercial litigation. Shawn has represented clients across numerous sectors of the economy with regulatory compliance, risk management, and employment practices. He has experience working with both large and small companies that specialize in technology, food, entertainment, retail, and transportation. Shawn also has experience litigating and defending all aspects of Americans with Disabilities Act litigation. Shawn has published numerous articles on the issue of Web accessibility.
Shawn also has deep experience working with clients on compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and has published several articles relating to FSMA law. Shawn is the co-author of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Food, Cosmetic, and Nutraceutical Committee Digest and he was appointed as the co-chair of the Food, Cosmetics and Nutraceuticals Committee of the ABA Section of Science & Technology Law. Additionally, in 2015, he organized a law review symposium co-sponsored by K&L Gates entitled “The Future of Food Safety.” The symposium featured prominent speakers commenting on the ramifications the FSMA has had on all sectors of the food industry, and he published a well-received law review article on the subject. He has been recognized as a thought leader on the subject.
Additionally, Shawn has experience working on a multidistrict litigation involving complex commercial/construction matters. He has also worked on cases involving securities fraud and other Ponzi schemes while at the firm. Shawn also advises clients on international regulatory compliance and other issues of international law.
Outside his legal practice, Shawn is the founder and organizer of a fiction and a nonfiction book club, which have both thrived in South Florida since 2013, and he has been recognized for their excellence in various media outlets both locally and nationally.
