Peter W. Shanley

Peter Shanley is an associate and is a member of the Commercial Disputes practice group. He is also a secondary member of the Financial Institutions and Services Litigation group. His practice focuses on representing clients in commercial litigation cases in state and federal courts, including courts in Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire. He has experience with the many different phases of commercial litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery, dispositive motion practice, and settlement negotiations.

Peter is also involved in pro bono matters, including helping undocumented children obtain legal status in the United States and assisting plaintiffs in § 1983 cases. 

Peter started with the firm as a summer associate in the Boston office. During this period, Peter gained experience performing legal research and preparing written memoranda in the Commercial Disputes practice group.

Prior to joining the firm, Peter served as a student attorney for the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office. Through this role, Peter stood on arraignments, bail hearings, pre-trial conferences, and motions for criminal cases representing the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Peter also previously served as a summer associate at the firm.
