Nicholas J. Kitko

Nick Kitko is an associate in the firm's Charlotte office, where he focuses his practice on middle-market mergers and acquisitions, private equity, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, corporate finance and growth equity, minority investments, joint ventures and other strategic alternatives, and general corporate matters where he functions as outside counsel with an emphasis on formation and capitalization, corporate governance, and commercial contracting. 

Nick regularly represents both strategic and financial buyers and sellers of businesses, debt and growth equity investors, and other participants in various buyout, recapitalization, and financing transactions. He also represents other businesses on a range of strategic, financing, and corporate matters through all stages of the company’s life-cycle. His experience spans a number of different industries, including transactions and corporate counseling in the areas of business services, manufacturing and distribution, environmental services, telecommunications, health care, life sciences, technology, media, and services.

Nick is a member of the Charlotte office associate liaison committee, serving as the bridge between leadership and associates, and is involved in the office’s mentorship and recruiting efforts. 

Prior to joining the firm, Nick served as an associate at a law firm based in Columbus, Ohio where his practice focused on underwriting representations and warranties insurance (RWI) policies for middle-market M&A transactions, leading corporate transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, and equity and debt financings, and assisting clients with securities compliance in private offerings in connection with capital raises. Nick also served as outside counsel to various private companies.
