Kevin L. Alonso

Kevin Alonso is a partner and a member of the Healthcare and FDA practice group. Kevin has dedicated his legal career to representing clients within the healthcare industry and has developed a reputation as a trusted legal and business advisor both in private practice and as in-house counsel to healthcare clients across the United States. Kevin advises healthcare clients on a variety of transactional, regulatory, and operational matters. 

Kevin's practice focuses on:

  • Health information privacy and security issues affecting both covered entities and business associates
  • Fraud, waste, and abuse prevention, investigation, and mitigation
  • Payor-provider contracting and disputes
  • Value-based arrangements
  • Healthcare transactions involving hospitals, physician practices, and ambulatory surgery centers
  • Ambulatory surgery center operations and compliance
  • Medicare Advantage contracting and sales and marketing compliance
  • No Surprises Act compliance

As a former in-house attorney, Kevin has been in the trenches with business and compliance leadership. He understands that his clients’ issues are not mere academic exercises; rather, they have real-world consequences. In an increasingly complicated regulatory environment, Kevin’s clients depend on his ability to translate legal complexity into strategic, actionable guidance to help drive quality patient care, business growth, and innovation.  

Kevin also serves as the pro bono coordinator for the firm’s Nashville office and regularly assists victims of nonconsensual pornography (i.e. “revenge porn”) as part of the firm’s Cyber Civil Rights Legal Project.  

Prior to joining the firm, Kevin served as associate senior counsel for the government business segment of a Fortune 20 global health service company and as senior operations counsel for the largest operator of ambulatory surgery centers in the United States.
