Kevin Cao

Kevin Cao is a Corporate and M&A partner in the firm's Palo Alto office and a key member of the firm's Asia and Latin America practices. His expertise spans venture capital financings, reorganizations, M&A transactions and corporate governance. Kevin has represented a diverse range of domestic and international clients across industries, including technology, banking, energy, aviation, real estate, and consumer products.  In his public company practice, Kevin has advised NYSE and NASDAQ-listed companies and their insiders on SEC reporting and compliance.

In addition to his corporate and transactional practice, he has advised clients with respect to corporate governance disputes, with a focus on founder disputes, disputes between stockholders and entity control disputes involving foreign founders or investors. 

Highly regarded by his international clients doing business in the U.S., Kevin serves as a trusted advisor for complex cross-border legal needs in the areas such as transfer pricing agreements, complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts, US insolvency proceedings, global IP strategies and portfolio management, data privacy, FDA compliance, CFIUS and export controls, antitrust, and anti-money laundry. 

Kevin has been practicing corporate law at top international law firms, starting in Pennsylvania and later in the San Francisco Bay Area, for over 10 years. As a bilingual and multicultural business lawyer originally from Shanghai and trained in the US (J.D.) and China (LL.B.), he has unique background and extensive experience that have enabled him to establish, connect and strengthen business relationships for international clients conducting business globally.
