Karim Kobaissy

Karim Kobaissy is a senior associate and a member of the Corporate practice and Mergers and Acquisitions practice group. Karim has experience in a wide range of corporate transactions, including local and cross border, private and public mergers and acquisitions (M&A), initial public offerings, direct listings, venture capital investments, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, private equity, corporate governance, energy, and regulatory.

Prior to joining the firm, Karim worked for almost five years as a corporate associate at a global multinational law firm based in Qatar focusing on M&A and capital markets. During that time, Karim has also completed a secondment with the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, being a legal counsel to the state of Qatar regarding the organization of Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Karim was previously a trainee lawyer at a US global law firm located in Paris, where he focused his practice on corporate, infrastructure, energy, and commodities transactions in the Middle East and North Africa. In addition, he also worked as a trainee lawyer for a UK global law firm located in Paris working alongside the corporate and projects teams on transactions in connection with their Africa and Middle East practice.

  • Ranked 2/110 by the Special Tribunal of Lebanon and selected as part of a delegation to visit The Hague’s international courts
  • Granted the award of best draft of law by a committee consisting of members of Parliament in Lebanon
