K&L Gates Partner Recognized as ‘Partner of the Year' at Luxury Law Awards

K&L Gates partner Francesco Carloni has been named “Partner of the Year” at the 2024 Luxury Law Awards ceremony held on June 11.

Organized in conjunction with the Luxury Law Summit held at London’s British Museum, the Luxury Law Awards each year recognize the law firms, in-house legal teams, deals, individuals, and lifetime achievements required to guide a luxury business or brand to profitable success. 

Based in the firm’s Brussels and Milan offices, Carloni currently serves as co-chair for the K&L Gates' global luxury products and fashion industry group, a multidisciplined legal team focused on the luxury and fashion sector. Within the luxury and fashion sector, Carloni’s client base includes: Prada, Giorgio Armani, the French and the Italian trade associations for the fashion industry (Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode and Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana), Canali, Ferragamo, OTB (including their brands Brave Kid, Diesel, Jil Sander, Marni, Margiela and Staff International), Zegna, Thom Browne, and Versace. His clients routinely seek his trusted advice involving matters related to antitrust, global distribution strategies, ESG and greenwashing claims.

Carloni and his team recently advised on a number of market-leading projects including working with the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI) and the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (Fédération) in connection with the review and implementation of the European Union’s Eco-Design for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). Carloni also successfully represented an iconic fashion brand before the European Commission and the US Department of Justice in connection with their investigation into alleged cartel conduct following a dawn raid in May 2022. This high-profile matter was covered extensively by mainstream media outlets, including The New York Times.
