K&L Gates Named Among the Top 30 Investigations Firms Worldwide by Global Investigations Review
Global law firm K&L Gates has been named to Global Investigations Review’s GIR 30, an annual list of the best law firms in the world for cross-border corporate investigations. The ranking measures firms’ institutional strength based on a range of factors, including a firm’s reach, its caseload – particularly in cross-border investigations and related cases – appearances before enforcement agencies and regulators, and more. The top 30 law firms were unveiled during an awards ceremony on 14 November in Washington, D.C.
In the firm’s profile, editors write that “K&L Gates has expanded its white-collar practice with three US hires in the past year, including a veteran foreign bribery prosecutor, who join investigations partners in Europe and Asia, which puts the firm in a great position to handle global investigations.” The editors also note that the firm’s White-Collar Defense and Investigations practice has lawyers in offices on five continents and includes former senior government officials from the US Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority.
The K&L Gates White Collar Defense and Investigations practice offers clients comprehensive, multi-jurisdictional advice in the most sensitive and high-visibility enforcement and regulatory matters worldwide, including state and federal investigations, grand jury proceedings, parallel civil and criminal proceedings, and criminal trials on behalf of corporations and individuals. The team conducts complex, cross-border internal investigations, represents clients in congressional investigations, provides compliance advice to corporations, and assists clients in matters that present complex reputation, financial, and operational risk.
K&L Gates is a fully integrated global law firm with lawyers located across five continents. The firm represents leading multinational corporations, growth and middle-market companies, capital markets participants and entrepreneurs in every major industry group as well as public sector entities, educational institutions, philanthropic organizations and individuals.
