K&L Gates Enhances Energy, Infrastructure, and Resources Practice With Washington, D.C., Partner
Washington, D.C. – Global law firm K&L Gates LLP welcomes Thomas Allen as a partner in its Washington, D.C., office. He joins the firm’s Energy, Infrastructure, and Resources practice with a focus on power and utilities. Allen arrives to K&L Gates from Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, where he was the global lead for international disputes.
With more than 20 years of experience, Allen focuses his practice on the renewable, nuclear, and oil and gas sectors and working globally on international disputes. He advises private companies, investors, and sovereign nations in disputes touching on the full life cycle of energy deals. Including construction, financing, supply chain, fuel, component and product defects, technology licensing, and a host of other issues.

Allen’s arrival follows the addition of several other new lawyers and policy professionals to the Washington, D.C., office since January 2024, including international trade partners Nate Bolin and Dave Allman, antitrust partner Vishal Mehta, government affairs advisor John Northington Jr., public policy of counsel Joseph Trahern, 340B lawyer Amanda Smith, and the firm’s first senior scientific advisor Peter Coneski.
