K&L Gates Advises Wesbanco in its Acquisition of Premier Financial Corp.

Global law firm K&L Gates LLP served as co-counsel to multi-state bank holding company Wesbanco, Inc. (Nasdaq: WSBC) in connection with its acquisition of Premier Financial Corp. (Nasdaq: PFC) in a stock-for-stock merger pursuant to which Wesbanco issued approximately 28.8 million shares of its common stock as merger consideration.

The completed acquisition creates a regional financial services institution with approximately $27 billion in assets, significant economies of scale, and strong pro forma profitability metrics. Wesbanco now serves customers through more than 250 financial centers and loan production offices in Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
