K&L Gates Advises Dash Living on Majority Investment of up to US$150 Million by Hillhouse Investment's Rava Partners
Global law firm K&L Gates has advised Dash Living, a Hong Kong-based rental housing platform, on a majority investment of up to US$150 million by Rava Partners, the real assets investment arm of global investment firm Hillhouse Investment.
The investment marks a significant milestone in Dash Living’s ongoing expansion across the Asia-Pacific region and supports its strategic transformation into a fully integrated living sector asset management platform.
Founded in 2014, Dash Living provides fully furnished, flexible lease accommodations for young professionals and digital nomads, with over 2,000 rooms under management in key cities including Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, and Sydney.
Hillhouse Investment is a global investment firm that partners with businesses across sectors including healthcare, business services, real assets, and technology. Its affiliate, Rava Partners, focuses on real assets and infrastructure investments across the Asia-Pacific region.
The multi-office Corporate deal team was led by Hong Kong partner William Ho, with support from associates Eva Ying, Dorothy Hung, Amy Lau, Prudence Pang, and trainee solicitor Charlotte Cheng. Additional support was provided by Tokyo partner Tsuguhito Omagari and Australia partner Adam Levine, with assistance from senior associate Ben Kiernan-Green.
Ho stated: “We are pleased to have supported Dash Living on this significant milestone. The transaction highlights the strength of our global platform and our experience in advising innovative, high-growth businesses on complex, cross-border investments. We congratulate Dash Living and look forward to continuing to support its expansion across the region.”
This transaction builds on K&L Gates’ longstanding relationship with Dash Living. In September 2024, the firm advised Dash Living on its second joint venture with global investment manager Schroders, for the acquisition and development of Dash Living Osaki, the company’s 17th property in Japan. K&L Gates has also advised Dash Living on a range of private equity-backed real estate and investment matters across Asia-Pacific.
K&L Gates’ Corporate practice is one of the most substantial in the legal industry, with hundreds of lawyers in offices on five continents providing clients with practical legal solutions in the structuring, financing, and completion of domestic, international, and cross-border transactions.
