Joshua N. Andrews

Joshua Andrews is a United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) registered patent lawyer. He concentrates his practice in patent litigation and IP procurement and portfolio management.

Joshua’s experience includes every stage of patent litigation, beginning with pre-suit investigations and continuing through discovery, claim construction, motion practice, and trial. His experience also includes addressing patent validity at the USPTO in Inter Partes Review and Ex Parte Reexamination proceedings, as well as on appeal at the Federal Circuit. Additionally, Joshua has been involved in preparing and prosecuting patent applications and assisting clients in trade secret misappropriation disputes. 

Joshua has advised clients in a variety of technical fields including integrated circuits, telecommunication systems, wireless meeting room systems, lighting module design, medical diagnostic and treatment systems, and autonomous flight systems.

Joshua served as a summer associate prior to joining the firm as an associate. Through this role, Joshua prosecuted patent applications and provided support for IP litigation matters.

Additionally, Joshua gained experience as an intellectual property intern for an aviation and aeronautics research company, where he worked with engineering teams in developing invention disclosures for patent applications, engaged in communications with outside counsel, and monitored compliance for ownership rights on joint ventures involving third parties. 

Prior to his legal career, Joshua was involved in a multi-year research project which involved adapting traditional remote sensing techniques to analyze and track the concentration of Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) in the Finger Lakes Region of New York.
