John Paul A. Galgano

John Paul (JP) Galgano is an associate and a member of the IP Procurement and Portfolio Management practice group. JP focuses his practice on patent prosecution and post-grant proceedings. His experience includes drafting patent applications, gaining allowances on patent applications, freedom-to-operate (FTO) analysis, patentability and patent landscape analysis, IP portfolio management, IPR defense, and other patent counseling activities. JP’s experience covers a wide range of technology areas including medical device, mechanical, electromechanical, vehicle glass, construction, AI and machine learning, and telecommunication, among others. 

Prior to joining the firm as an associate, JP served as a summer associate and completed projects in patent prosecution, patent litigation, IPR proceedings, and assisted with pro bono items. In addition, he worked directly with a client's in-house counsel regarding a portfolio management matter. JP also focused his practice on medical devices, telecommunications, robotics, mechanical, and additional technology areas.

JP is a United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) registered patent lawyer.

John was previously a law clerk at a Minneapolis-based intellectual property law firm. During this time, he worked alongside partners and associates and assisted clients on a wide array of intellectual property matters. Additionally, John gained experience regarding electric vehicles, telecommunications, medical devices, and more.
