Jared R. Lund

Jared Lund is a United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) registered patent lawyer. He concentrates his practice in patent litigation and patent prosecution.

Jared’s patent litigation experience includes district court cases, both supporting and in defense of patent infringement claims. His experience covers a variety of technologies, including voice over IP functionality in desktop phones, LED displays, wireless charging, interoperability of Push-to-Talk platforms, and various mechanical devices. He has experience in many phases of litigation, including fact and expert discovery, dispositive motion practice, and claim construction practice. Specifically, Jared’s experience has included preparing expert reports, drafting claim construction briefs, and preparing for and taking depositions.

Jared also has experience in drafting and prosecuting domestic and foreign patent applications, involving a variety of technologies, including infusion pumps, medical diagnostic and monitoring devices, software technologies, and electronic and mechanical devices. Jared has experience in freedom-to-operate work with a focus on new product development and competitor portfolio analysis to identify references for invalidity and non-infringement opinions. For one matter, Jared completed a portfolio analysis, categorizing thousands of references from a recent acquisition to identify weaknesses in portfolio trends, which were used to guide future filings

Prior to joining the firm, Jared served as a legal extern for the USPTO. During his externship, he prepared briefs for the Federal Circuit, drafted memorandums for Administrative Patent Judges, and presented compliance reports to the Office of Patent Quality Assurance. Jared was also a legal extern in the Northern District of Illinois, conducting legal research and drafting memorandums, including a bench memorandum for a Markman hearing.
