Ian K. Samways

Ian Samways is a patent agent in the firm’s IP Procurement and Portfolio Management practice. Ian has experience in a variety of technologies, with a focus in counseling and advising inventors and companies on navigating challenges of domestic and foreign patenting processes.

Prior to joining the firm, Ian was a patent agent at a mid-sized global intellectual property law firm. Through this role, he prepared and prosecuted US and foreign patent applications mainly in the automotive, energy, and telecommunications industries, and also advised and mentored newer patent professionals. He has also worked in-house at a global industrial cutting tool company, and in that connection developed and conducted internal patent training for engineers.
