Harriet Sherwin

Harriet Sherwin is a trainee solicitor. Prior to joining the firm, Harriet worked at an international law firm, focusing on financial restructuring. She also has prior experience studying tort law, corporate mergers and acquisitions, constitutional law, land law, trust law, and criminal law. and is currently sat in the firm’s Finance practice. She previously worked with the Asset Management and Investment Funds team in the London office in the first seat of her training contract. She is now focused on corporate financing transactions acting for lenders and borrowers across a variety of transaction. She is also assisting in restructuring and insolvency transactions 

Prior to joining the firm, Harriet had completed several legal work placements in a variety of firms, from regional UK firms to US firms. During these, she worked in different financial restructuring, corporate transactions, and commercial litigation teams. During law school, Harriet also participated in various commercial law societies, competed in Moot Court competitions, and was President of Lawyers without Border, Durham University Student division in her final year. 

During the first seat of her training contract, Harriet worked with both regulated and private funds. She assisted in work for a variety of retail fund clients to ensure regulatory compliance with UK regulations such as AIFMD and MIFID. Harriet focused particularly on the changing ESG landscape across the UK and EU during her time with this team. She also assisted in advising client who launch private investment funds and platforms for clients that raise capital across a global investor base and a variety of alternative asset classes, including private equity and venture capital.
