Engaged to defend medical monitoring class action related to environmental emissions of ethylene oxide. Claim dismissed shortly after filing as a result of Illinois Supreme Court decision.
Defended an international polymers company in a putative class action seeking medical monitoring for multiple census tracts in the US District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. The representation also involved tracking EPA actions and new regulations on air emissions of ethylene oxide.
Represented the owner of multiple minor league baseball franchises in stadium lease disputes.
Represented a paints, coatings, and specialty materials company in regard to issues from its former chrome ore processing plant in New Jersey. Involved regulatory matters regarding remediation of more than 60 industrial, commercial, and residential properties. Prosecuted and defended contribution actions related to many of the properties. Addressed issues pertaining to brownfields development and continued remediation at several commercial sites.
Defended an American automobile manufacturer against an NRD claim by the state of New Jersey related to the Ringwood Superfund site. Included regulatory work before the EPA and state environmental regulators.
Assisted an automotive manufacturer in evaluating options for addressing PFAS at a Superfund site in New York.
Represented a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based American Fortune 500 company and global supplier of paints, coatings, and specialty materials in connection with its sale of 100% of the outstanding stock of a wholly owned indirect subsidiary, located in Arizona operating in the ITS industry. The total transaction value was approximately US$95 million.
