Advising AXA Investment Managers on its investment for its new build-to-rent (BTR / social affordable housing) project in Westmead, Western Sydney.
Advising a large investor consortium including superannuation and institutional investors on investment manager arrangements in relation to a large infrastructure (industrial and logistics property) investment in Sydney, Australia.
Advising a large international fund manager on its corporate and fund governance arrangements.
Advising a developer and investment manager on the establishment of a new fund for renewable energy assets.
Advising an international fund investor with respect to its potential investment into a large Australian transport project.

Corporate / Mergers and Acquisitions / Securities

Acting for the wealth management arm of a large Australian banking, superannuation, and advisory group on the acquisition and disposal of assets and companies and proposed group restructuring.
Acting for an overseas investor on the structuring and sale of property joint venture assets in Australia.
Advising a bond specialists on the establishment of new securities, credit, and bond funds, including with respect to fundraising in Australia to invest in overseas fixed income, ESG bonds, and derivative products.

Experience prior to joining K&L Gates

Acting for AXA Investment Managers Australia Limited on: the acquisition of a AU$1.67 billion consortium stake in the warehouse property business forming part of the rail and road intermodal facility (Moorebank Logistics Park) in western Sydney (the largest logistics intermodal freight terminal in Australia), including negotiating and finalising JV arrangements with investors; the launch of its new Australian build-to-rent (BTR) strategy and project in Westmead, western Sydney which involved the subscription of securities in unit trusts and companies, fund structuring and negotiation of investor funding arrangements; the acquisition of a stake in the AU$3+ billion Scape Core Fund which has acquired a portfolio of student assets throughout Australia in separate investment tranches; and the acquisition of a significant equity stake in a AU$100+ million healthcare property fund.
Acted for a listed subsidiary of a Chinese state-owned Enterprise on the acquisition of US$10 billion in upstream oil and gas assets in a number of countries globally.
Acted for AXA on the upstream investment and structuring aspects of its acquisition of Green Triangle forestry assets in Victoria and South Australia, the largest forestry deal in Australia for more than 10 years.
Acted for a Hong Kong entity on the structuring and sale of property joint venture assets.
Acted for Centuria Healthcare (Centuria Capital Group) on its investment in, and structuring for, a AU$250 million partnership with Digital Infratech to develop the Cudgen Connection healthcare precinct on the NSW Tweed Coast; and on the acquisition of a number of healthcare assets in Australia.
Acted for a life insurance group on the AU$2.2 billion sale of Macquarie Centre and Pacific Fair shopping centres.
Acted for Transport for NSW on the world first illegal mobile phone use detection trials for NSW roads, bus panel contracts and the Opal Card transport card scheme.
Advised an investment manager on the management arrangements for a new fund containing new National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) disability participant housing projects in NSW.
Acted for a number of Australian and international investors and fund managers on: the establishment and structuring of new wholesale funds and restructuring of existing funds; joint ventures, merger, and stapling of funds in the property development, healthcare and infrastructure sectors; fund and investor documents and investment management agreements; project documents negotiated with government, developers, and contractors; and structuring of significant funds flow in to Australia and equity subscription and capital contribution arrangements.
Acted for a state government on transport and infrastructure projects and government contracts with the private sector.
Acted for an ASX-listed mining company on the acquisition and sale of a number of coal mines and joint venture interests in Australia.
Acted for a UK infrastructure fund on several acquisitions of stakes in PFI infrastructure projects.
Acted for an Australian fund manager on the establishment of unit trusts for real estate assets.
Acted for an ASX-listed energy company on the sale of its interests in three cogeneration power stations in Australia.
Acted for a leading Australian property group on the development and sale of its tri-generation thermal energy plant at a 5 Green Star rated park development in Sydney, Australia.
