Erica H. Chan

Erica Chan is an associate in the firm’s New York office. She is a member of the Merger and Acquisitions practice group.

Prior to joining the firm Erica served as a local democracy spring fellow for a national nonprofit advocacy organization in New York. Through this role, Erica researched and drafted legal memos on questions related to home rule and local government, including analysis of local authority to enact policies in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Erica assisted with drafting state and local legislation, and created materials to support advocates around the country who were organizing to defeat preemption and protect home rule. 

Erica was a summer associate in the firm’s New York office. During this time, Erica co-authored a client alert regarding the Basel Committee’s public consultation on crypto assets, and conducted legal research on precedent proxy statements for a public company. In addition, she prepared and drafted a response to requests for admissions before a trial involving trademark dispute. Erica also reviewed and organized deposition digests, participated in phone conferences with clients and opposing counsel, and assisted with a pro bono case by preparing and drafting a family court guardianship petition.
