Asia Business Law Journal Names K&L Gates Among Best Foreign Law Firms in South Korea
Global law firm K&L Gates has once again been named a Best Foreign Law Firms Award winner by Asia Business Law Journal (ABLJ) at the Korea Law Firm Awards 2024–25.
In the awards coverage, ABLJ highlights the firm’s long history of advising Korean sponsors and financial institutions in energy and infrastructure projects regionally and globally. It also notes our representation of Korean sponsors, funds, developers, and lenders involved in the development and financing of renewables projects, including solar, wind, carbon capture, hydrogen, and ESS, from early-stage structuring to operating stages.
Work highlights in ABLJ’s coverage include the firm’s representation of LS GreenLink USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of LS Cable & System, on site selection, economic incentives, and related real estate matters for a brownfield site of nearly 100 acres in Chesapeake, Virginia, for a new submarine power cable manufacturing facility. Other work highlights include the firm’s representation of Simmtech, a Korea-based company engaged in the manufacture of printed circuit boards, on the successful development, investment, and financing of a US$120 million greenfield industrial facility in Penang, Malaysia, and of Korea Midland Power and its affiliated US subsidiaries on operations of solar power and energy projects in Texas.
