Alaina Bailey is a seasoned associate in the firm’s Technology Transactions and Data Protection, Privacy, and Security practice groups with a proven track record in supporting technology and commercial transactions. She is authorized to practice in California and Washington and is CIPP/US certified.

Having advised companies at all lifecycle stages across various industries, Alaina brings a wealth of experience to the table. She is well-versed in supporting startup and emerging growth clients through the intricacies of launching and scaling their businesses and addressing the unique legal challenges faced by these entities, from navigating intellectual property considerations to advising on workforce-related issues. Her experience includes being seconded with multiple business units within a Fortune 500 company, where she provided invaluable legal support and strategic guidance. Additionally, she often serves as outside in-house counsel for other large companies, further enhancing her understanding of corporate dynamics and large-scale legal considerations. Alaina's proficiency further extends to complex privacy and data security matters, ensuring compliance with regulatory paradigms such as the CCPA, GDPR and COPPA. She also plays a pivotal role in conducting due diligence for intellectual property and data privacy issues in M&A and other corporate transactions. 

Alaina continuously seeks out opportunities to unite her legal practice with her passion for automobiles and motorsports by leveraging her legal acumen to address novel challenges within the automotive and transportation industries. She is committed to delivering thoughtful, efficient solutions and exceptional client service, making her a trusted advisor to clients across diverse verticals.

Before joining the firm, Alaina excelled as an associate at a premier full-service law firm in Silicon Valley. Her experience covered drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide array of technology and commercial agreements, including SaaS/cloud services, technology licenses, and OEM agreements. She also provided federal trademark prosecution services, strategic counsel on brand protection and maintenance, and guidance on data privacy and security matters.
