Adina Darbyshire

Adina is a lawyer in the Corporate group focusing on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital investments and general corporate advisory work. Adina works on matters across a range of industry sectors including technology, financial services, and telecommunications. Adina has a particular interest in transactions in the aerospace and space technology sectors, as well as in cross-border venture capital transactions involving emerging growth companies based outside of Australia, with a particular interest in Japan.

Adina has assisted clients with public international law matters including the analysis of State obligations in customary international law and treaty practice (e.g., international investment law, international human rights law, and territorial sovereignty). Her thought leadership has included research, legal writing, and organizing panel discussions on space law and international humanitarian law in the context of cyberspace.

Adina has conducted and coordinated research on disinformation law across ten jurisdictions in Southeast Asia for World Justice Project. More recently, Adina coordinated the work of K&L Gates attorneys across seven offices to instruct local counsel across twenty-six Asia-Pacific jurisdictions to establish a legal platform on the fight against online child sexual exploitation for a leading child protection organisation.

Adina joined K&L Gates' graduate program in 2023, rotating in the corporate, finance, and policy and regulatory groups, where she gained exposure to matters for clients in various industries and sectors. Prior to this, Adina joined K&L Gates as a law clerk in 2021.
