Phil Griffin is an investigations, enforcement and white collar associate in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. He focuses his practice on the defense of corporations and individuals in government investigations and civil securities litigation.

Mr. Griffin has represented hedge funds, investment advisers, investment professionals and other companies and individuals in enforcement actions before the Securities and Exchange Commission and other government agencies and regulators. He has also represented public and private companies in connection with complex civil litigation in state and federal court.

Professional Background

Prior to joining K&L Gates, Mr. Griffin worked as a legal intern for the U.S. Department of Justice and for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. He also served as a first-year legal writing instructor, an appellate advocacy teaching assistant and a member of the Penn Criminal Law Research Group’s Delaware Criminal Law Recodification Project, in which he drafted major portions of a proposed recodified criminal code for the State of Delaware. Prior to law school, he worked as a compliance analyst for a global investment bank.

Mr. Griffin was a K&L Gates summer associate in 2015.
