Mr. Louik is an associate in the firm’s Pittsburgh office. He concentrates his practice in complex commercial litigation, focusing on insurance coverage, product liability and international arbitration. Mr. Louik also represents financial institutions and mortgage servicers in various real estate litigation matters. Mr. Louik has been involved in both domestic and international commercial disputes and insurance coverage matters, including experience with AAA, ICDR and ICC arbitrations. With respect to insurance coverage, Mr. Louik has represented policyholders in coverage disputes involving claims under general liability polices, professional liability policies, and first-party property policies. Mr. Louik has also represented clients defending both toxic and non-toxic product liability matters.

Professional Background

Before joining the firm, Mr. Louik was a summer associate at K&L Gates. He also worked as a student attorney for the Washtenaw County Office of Public Defender.  Prior to law school, he worked as a paralegal for the New York County District Attorney.

  • Counsel to several policyholders involved in insurance litigation against multiple insurers regarding coverage for asbestos product liabilities.
  • Counsel to policyholder in tortious interference case against the Berkshire Hathaway entities, National Indemnity Company and Resolute Management, Inc., as well as in related arbitrations against Underwriters at Lloyd’s and AIG Insurers.
  • Counsel to oil & gas company seeking insurance recoveries in connection with liabilities resulting from well collision.
