Matthew Bowman is a staff attorney in the government enforcement group in the Washington, D.C. office. His practice focuses on complex civil and white collar criminal litigation, and all levels of government enforcement. He represents both individuals and corporations, including public and private companies, investment companies, investment advisers, and broker-dealers before state and federal courts, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, the United States Department of Justice, and various other government agencies and regulators. He also represents corporate clients in False Claims Act litigation.
In addition, Mr. Bowman has significant experience in complex internal investigations on behalf of board committees, legal departments, and outside examiners. These investigations touch upon potential regulatory, civil, or criminal exposure and cover a myriad of topics including bankruptcy, corporate governance and compliance, and employment matters.
Mr. Bowman is also involved in pro bono matters, representing clients on matters involving employment discrimination, elder law, and governance of nonprofit organizations.
