Matthew A. Alvis

Matt Alvis is an associate in the Chicago office. Matt concentrates his practice on complex class action defense and commercial litigation, including consumer class action defense, securities litigation, investment company litigation, and shareholder derivative litigation. His experience includes representing clients in consumer fraud class actions, involving claims under various state consumer fraud, false advertising and unfair competition statutes, claims for breach of implied and express warranty, and claims for unjust enrichment. Matt has also represented clients in connection with contractual disputes and business torts.

Matt was a summer associate at K&L Gates in 2012. During law school, he served as judicial intern for the Honorable Thomas J. Shields in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa. He was also a member of the Northwestern University School of Law’s Bluhm Legal Clinic where he focused on complex civil litigation and investor protection.
