K&L Gates Further Strengthens Energy, Infrastructure and Resources Practice Area with New York Partner Addition
New York - The New York office of global law firm K&L Gates LLP has added Toshi Yoshida as a partner in the energy, infrastructure and resources practice area. He joins K&L Gates from Mayer Brown.
Yoshida focuses his practice on global energy projects, including LNG, oil and gas, power, and chemical and water projects, and cross-border mergers and acquisitions in general manufacturing sectors. In particular, he has extensive experience representing Japanese clients for their global energy projects and business operations in the U.S., and works with clients on matters in Asia, Australia, Latin America, Africa, and the U.S., among other regions.
“Toshi is a highly experienced transactional attorney who serves as a trusted adviser to the largest energy companies in Japan,” said John A. Bicks, administrative partner of K&L Gates’ New York office. “We are excited for the opportunities that Toshi will have to further develop his practice on our integrated global platform, particularly given the strength of the firm’s presence in Japan.”
Steven C. Sparling, a leader of the firm’s energy, infrastructure and resources practice area, stated: “We are delighted to add a high-caliber energy projects lawyer like Toshi to our U.S. and global platform, with his arrival helping to strengthen K&L Gates’ globally integrated oil, gas, and resources and electric power practices. Co-based in New York and Houston and working closely with our Tokyo office, Toshi will add considerable depth to our teams handling cross-border M&A, project development, and other investments and transactions for and involving Japanese multinational energy companies. He also adds significant resources to our extensive practice acting for Asian multinationals generally.”
Yoshida’s arrival follows the addition of oil and gas partners Joseph Regan and Adam Plumbley to K&L Gates’ Fort Worth office in early September.
K&L Gates is a fully integrated global law firm with lawyers located across five continents. The firm represents leading multinational corporations, growth and middle-market companies, capital markets participants and entrepreneurs in every major industry group as well as public sector entities, educational institutions, philanthropic organizations and individuals.
