K&L Gates Advises Hexagon AB on Pending Acquisition of MSC Software Corporation

has advised Hexagon AB (NASDAQ Stockholm: HEXA B), a leading global provider of information technologies that drive productivity and quality across geospatial and industrial enterprise applications, on the purchase of MSC Software Corporation (“MSC”) for US$834 million. MSC is a leading provider of computer-aided engineering solutions, including simulation software for virtual product and manufacturing process development.
MSC simulation software enables customers in manufacturing industries, such as automotive and aerospace, to optimize designs for production, quality, and durability. The acquisition will further expand Hexagon’s manufacturing intelligence. The deal is expected to be complete in April 2017, pending regulatory approval and satisfaction of certain other customary closing conditions.
