Joanna Klat is a counsel in the firm's Dubai and Paris offices, where she focuses her practice on real estate matters, including finance, investment, construction, insurance, town planning, real estate development and commercial leases. Joanna has over ten years experience advising clients on real estate matters in France and in the Gulf Region. Leading directory Legal 500 has recently recognized Joanna as a “very good professional who never lets her clients down”.

Professional Background

Prior to joining the firm, Joanna worked as an in-house lawyer at an international bank. She also has experience as an associate in the Real Estate departments of two U.K. law firms in Paris.

  • Advising a Dubai real estate investment fund on the purchase of several office and retail buildings in the UAE and on various property management matters;
  • Advising a Dubai real estate investment fund in the purchase and development of a school in the Akoya community;
  • Advising one of India’s leading infrastructure and development companies in respect of a development and concession with the Government of Dubai;
  • Advising on the IPO on Nasdaq Dubai of a real estate investment fund;
  • Advising a Qatari group in the purchase of a residential building developed as part of the Dubai Citywalk project;
  • Advising a Chinese group in the implementation of their first showroom and plant in Dubai;
  • Advising a private investor on the purchase of several high end residential portfolios in Dubai;
  • Advising a Qatari fund in respect of its standard retail and commercial leases in Qatar;
  • Advising a major international data center operator in the off-plan purchase of one of its French sites for a total area of more than 11,000 square meters and the negotiation of its French leases;
  • Advising a Chinese listed investor in the acquisition and financing of the Marriott Hotel Champs Elysées in Paris;
  • Advising a US asset management fund in the acquisition of a EUR 280M European loan protfolio.
