Ms. Lim is a registered Australian and New Zealand patent attorney with a technical background in Biomedical Engineering. Ms. Lim focuses her practice on patent procurement and strategic portfolio management. Her work includes preparing and prosecuting domestic and international patent applications and advising clients on various facets of intellectual property including patentability of inventions, commercialisation strategies, freedom to operate and patent validity.

Ms. Lim has experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications across diverse technical fields, including mechanical engineering, medical devices and systems, manufacturing and packaging processes, and building and construction systems.

As a New Zealand patent attorney, Ms. Lim has experience prosecuting before the New Zealand Patent Office and advising clients in relation to New Zealand patent law and practice.

Professional Background

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Lim worked as a patent attorney at a specialist Australasian intellectual property firm. During this time, she acted for a range of clients including industry leaders, universities and research institutes, start-up companies and single entrepreneurs, preparing and prosecuting patent applications and advising on intellectual property issues.

In 2011, Ms. Lim received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Biomedical Engineering with First Class Honours from the University of Auckland. In 2012, she completed a Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering with First Class Honours from the University of Auckland, under a full tuition scholarship by the Riddet Institute. Her research involved developing and testing mathematical models to simulate the interconnected electrical, mechanical and fluid dynamic activity in the intestine. During this time, Ms. Lim also worked as a research assistant and tutor for the Auckland Bioengineering Institute at the University of Auckland.
