Inha Lee is counsel in the firm’s Seoul office. She focuses her practice on cross border mergers and acquisitions, private equity, energy and project finance. She also has extensive experience advising on corporate finance and asset finance transactions.

Professional Background
Prior to joining K&L Gates, Ms. Lee practiced with another global law firm in Hong Kong. She also served as senior counsel at Korea Investment Corporation, Korea’s sovereign wealth fund.

  • Advise Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), a Korean government-owned electric utility, on its equity investment of the Waterbury uranium mine project in Canada
  • Advise Singapore government–owned investment company, GIC, on the acquisition of a public listed Indian company in India and Malaysia, subsequent subscription of fresh equity in a private special purpose vehicle, and ancillary shareholders arrangements
  • Advise Hanwha Chemical Corporation on the acquisition of a German solar power company, Q-cells SE and subsequent share transfers to its affiliates in the USA, PRC, Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Cayman Islands 
  • Advise the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and a Korean consortium on their development, investment, construction and operation of a hydropower project in Nepal.
  • Advise Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited and Kasikornbank Public Company Limited on the loan facilities to the solar power projects of SunEdison in Thailand
  • Advise SK Energy Co. on its Ethylene joint venture with China Petroleum and Chemical    Corporation (Sinopec) in Wuhan, PRC
  • Advise POSCO Power Co., Ltd. on its acquisition of a 30% equity interest in AES-VCM Mong Duong Power Company Ltd. owned by AES Mong Duong Holdings B.V.
  • Advise Samsung C&T on the acquisition of interest in coal transfer business in Indonesia
  • Advise Korea Western Power Co. on IGCC technology transfer and licensing agreements with Shell in the Korea’s first integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) development project
  • Advise Korea Development Bank, Kookmin Bank and Daelim Ent Co., Ltd. on the development, financing and construction of MSW to energy project in Thailand
  • Advise Sun Microsystems Inc. on its restructuring of the Singapore-based joint venture
  • Advise L'Oréal on the divestment to Spotless Group BV of its interests in C&I SAS
  • Advise SK Group on the acquisition of a commercial building in Beijing which currently serves as its headquarters in the PRC, valued at USD350million
  • Advise a Korean electronic company on its strategic research & development and joint venture arrangements with Corning in the U.S.A.
  • Advise BNP Paribas on USD512million syndicated loan facility and the relevant security arrangement to Hanjin Shipping Co., Ltd. for the acquisition of a Panamanian registered vessel
