Ian Furman is an associate in the firm’s Houston office. He advises clients on domestic and international transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and energy development projects. His primary area of focus is energy industry transactions, particularly liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects and upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas transactions, including joint operating agreements, farmout agreements, unitizations, and pipeline acquisitions and divestitures. Mr. Furman also advises clients on matters involving renewable energy assets, including the construction and operation of solar, wind, and biomass facilities.

Mr. Furman maintains an active pro bono practice, handling immigration and asylum matters, and volunteers at legal clinics for Houston-area veterans. He has served on the Houston Bar Association (HBA) Professionalism Committee and is a former chair of the city’s Adopt-an-Angel program. Mr. Furman previously served on the board of directors of the Houston Young Lawyers Association and is currently a fellow for the Houston Bar Foundation and the Houston Young Lawyers Foundation.

Mr. Furman is fluent in Spanish and has studied in Mexico and Argentina.
