Dr. Henning Starke is a counsel in the Frankfurt office and a member of the Investment Management and Banking and Finance practice groups.
Mr. Starke concentrates on financial regulation. His primary focus is on asset management with an emphasis on the conception, formation and promotion of investment vehicles and structured products. His experience covers a wide range of asset classes and vehicles. For example, he structures investments in securities and derivatives, receivables, real estate, private equity or renewable energies in UCITS, closed-ended funds, hedge funds or corporate structures, both for retail and institutional use. Moreover, Mr. Starke is active in tailoring products to the regulatory and economic requirements of specific institutional investors, such as insurance companies.
Other core elements of his practice cover payment services and e-money, often in the context of e-commerce activities. For his clients, he structures business models and platforms satisfying the pan-European regulatory framework, conducts licensing procedures and prepares for regulatory compliance.
Henning Starke joined K&L Gates in March 2016 from the Frankfurt office of another international law firm, where he was a partner since 2004. He started his career structuring and documenting investment banking products for a bank in 1996. Afterwards, he headed the global legal and fund development group of an asset management firm from 1999 to 2003.
