Francesco Sanna is a partner in the firm’s Milan office. He focuses his practice in real estate investment and development as well as in engineering and construction matters, including the structuring and negotiation of PFI and PPP project contracts with particular focus in the energy and health care sectors.

  • Sale of office building located in Lorenteggio, Milan, for a German investment fund.
  • Sale of portions of the business park “Bodio Center” in Milan for foreign investment fund.
  • Assistance in development and leasing issues for the Maciachini Center office park in Milan.
  • Purchase of various areas to be developed as logistic facilities in Lombardy and Piemonte Regions for Italian and foreign real estate funds.

  • Sponsors’ counsel team a health-care BOT project, consisting in the realisation of the Phase II of an Hospital in Northern Italy (Brescia). Value of the transaction: about 150 mio euros.
  • Sponsors’ counsel in the pre-awarding phase in a PFI project for the realization of the new Treviso Hospital. Value of the transaction: about 120 mio euros.

Energy
  • Lenders’ counsel in a Project Finance for the realisation of a 120 MWh gas fuelled co-generation plant in Northern Italy (Verzuolo - near Turin). Value of the transaction: about 70 million euros.
  • Sponsors’ counsel in a project for the realisation of a 14 Mwh biomass fuelled power plant in Central Italy (Cascina - near Pisa) within European Thermie Project. Value of the transaction: about 30 million euros. 
  • In-house contractor’s counsel during the bidding phase of a major Project Finance for the realisation of a power and associated desalinisation plant located in the Emirate of Abu-Dhabi. Value of the Project: about 1.5 billion euros. 
  • Owner’s counsel in relation to a joint venture for the realisation of a 30 Mwh gas fuelled co-generation plant in Central Italy (San Salvo – near Chieti) ancillary to one of the biggest glass-production factories in Europe.
  • Photovoltaic Plants: Assistance to a primary Italian asset manager in advising and structuring the entire pipeline of energy projects under the Conto Energia incentives scheme including JV agreements, formation and acquisition of vehicles, EPC and O&M agreements; drafting and negotiation of EPC and O&M agreements for a primary international developers operating in Italy for the development of photovoltaic plants.
