Erica Messimer is an associate in the Charlotte office and a member of the Tax practice group. Ms. Messimer engages in the U.S. federal and state tax analysis of various domestic and international tax transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, partnership creation and transactions, and private equity and venture capital investments. Ms. Messimer also assists with mortgage and asset-backed securities, debt instruments and modifications, and securitization issues. In addition, Ms. Messimer is experienced with federal and state controversy matters, foreign income reporting requirements, federal and state incentive programs, non-profit corporations, estate planning matters, and all aspects of federal tax credit and North Carolina and South Carolina state tax credit transactions, including historic tax credits and renewable energy tax credits.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Messimer was a tax associate at another law firm in Charlotte. She engaged in a broad tax practice and has experience in federal and state tax planning and controversy matters and in estate planning matters.
