Elizabeth Dunn is an associate in the firm’s London office. She is a commercial and regulatory lawyer, concentrating on sports, gambling, broadcasting and technology related matters. Elizabeth has experience advising on sports media rights, sponsorship, licensing and event-staging issues, gambling licensing and regulation and on a broad range of gambling commercial matters (including white label, turnkey, software supply and affiliate deals).

Professional Background

Prior to joining K&L Gates, Elizabeth was an associate at a leading international law firm in London, where she also completed her training contract. During this time, she undertook secondments to both the legal and sports operations teams of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. As part of the legal team, she provided support to the 26 sports teams and the sports presentation, training venues and medical teams. In the run up to, and during, the London 2012 Olympic Games, Elizabeth worked in the Games Operations Centre as part of the sports operations team to resolve operational issues affecting the sports, sports equipment, sports presentation, national relations and anti-doping teams.

Additional Information

Elizabeth has been an independent director of British Orienteering (the national governing body for the sport of orienteering) since October 2013.

Elizabeth writes regularly on developments in the gambling industry, and has had articles published in World Online Gambling Law Report.

  • Advising PUMA on its high profile sponsorship and licensing agreement with Arsenal FC, reported to be the biggest commercial deal in European football history at the time.
  • Advising Formula E team Virgin Racing Limited on sanctioning, licensing and sponsorship agreements.
  • Advising major rights holders in tennis, motor racing and horseracing on national and international media rights issues.
  • Advising LOCOG (London 2012) on numerous matters, including sponsorship, broadcasting and event staging agreements in relation to the London Prepares Test Events, licences with the National Trust in relation to the use of Box Hill (part of the road cycling event route), various procurement agreements for the supply of sports equipment and services and working with the IOC to create the first process at any Olympic Games for the submission of music information from athletes participating in relevant sports in order to facilitate the confirmation of rights prior to broadcast.

  • Advising gambling operators and software suppliers in relation to a wide range of commercial agreements, including white label, marketing, software development and supply, data licensing and other general commercial agreements.
