Our Dubai office, located within the Dubai International Financial Centre, supports clients doing business in both the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The UAE’s location relative to Europe, Africa, and Asia underscores the strength of its trading relationships with the rest of the world. Its continued commitment to infrastructure development and its position within the financial services sector makes it an important location for K&L Gates. In addition, with its business-friendly approach and excellent transportation and infrastructure, Dubai is a natural hub for us in the MENA region, where we expect to see continued development and growth.
The primary practice areas of the Dubai office are dispute resolution (including arbitration), insurance coverage, corporate matters (including mergers and acquisitions and private equity), investment funds and financial services regulatory advice, banking and finance, real estate, and employment. The office also works closely with our firm-wide Islamic finance and investment group, as well as providing partner level advice on UAE law and practice. It is increasingly advising in relation to FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act) matters as well as the UK’s Bribery Act. The Dubai office has a team of partners and associates with substantial domestic, regional and international experience across all these practice areas.
