Mr. Lim is a senior associate in our Singapore office. He is a qualified lawyer in Australia and his practice focuses in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and private equity transactions across Asia.

Mr. Lim also has experience advising on natural gas and oil value chains, infrastructure development, and power and renewable energy projects.

He has advised clients on high profile transactions in various jurisdictions including Asia, Australia, Europe and Africa.

Prior to joining K&L Gates in Singapore, Mr. Lim worked in a large and reputable international law firm based in Tokyo.

  • Representing Adknowledge, Inc., a North American advertising technology company on its Asian venture with Axiata Group, an Asian telecommunications companies with controlling interests in mobile operators in Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Cambodia.
  • Represented Quadria Capital on their growth capital investment into PT Soho Global, a pharmaceutical distribution and manufacturing company.
  • Representing a large company in Japan on its acquisition of a distributor of an automotive parts business owned by a Singaporean private equity firm.
  • Representing a large company in Japan on its acquisition of an equity interest in a publicly listed steel manufacturing company on the SGX.
  • Representing a large company in Japan on the acquisition of a controlling interest in a company in Germany, with one of the world’s largest recyclers of steel scrap and nonferrous metal scrap.

  • Advising a large company in Japan on operational matters affecting its interest in upstream gas fields in Australia, including under joint operating agreements, tolling agreements, drilling agreements and gas sales agreements.
  • Advising an international oil company on a diverse range of issues affecting its refining and marketing business in Australasia, including refineries, terminals, pipelines, logistics, wholesale and retail.
  • Advising a joint venture entity in Japan on its LNG marketing arrangements for an African LNG project.
  • Representing a large company in Japan in its successful tender to construct a nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertiliser plant in Kenya.
