Mr. Temple is engaged in a general counseling, litigation, and trial practice in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies around the country. His principal areas of practice involve primarily: complex commercial transaction and performance liability; integrated equipment, technology, and service supplier/distributor arrangements; alleged toxic exposure claims; and product performance and liability disputes.
In addition to representing clients in pending lawsuits, Mr. Temple serves as national coordinating and special trial counsel for clients facing repetitive litigation or business liability risks within multiple business segments in nearly every state in the United States. The national coordination practice assures client delivery of consistent, coordinated, and creative legal and strategic guidance regardless of the varied source or disparate location of the potential liabilities, while at the same time providing management and other stakeholders with a comprehensive overview and assessment of current and future risks.
Mr. Temple has represented clients engaged in sophisticated public and private commercial enterprises within a variety of industries and business segments, including: adhesives and mastics; aerospace and missile technologies; aircraft (military and commercial); aluminum smelting and fabrication; alternate and renewable energy generation and sourcing; architectural and building products; automobile; chemical (organic and inorganic); coatings and paints; coal, gravel, and sand mining; commercial and industrial construction; low voltage electrical distribution and control products; energy automation technology and management; glass; household products; medical devices; nanotechnolgy, nuclear fuel fabrication; nuclear power generation; microwave transmission; oil and gas development; petroleum refinery; power management; rubber; shipbuilding (military and merchant); steam electric power generation; steel; transportation and logistics; and welding.
In addition to overseeing liability assessment and litigation in underlying matters, he also coordinates policyholder client claims with its general liability, property, or workers’ compensation insurers. He also counsels companies with roots in the European Union on American product liability, mass tort, and liability/risk communication issues.
Mr. Temple has been a lawyer at K&L Gates since 1988 and a partner since 1996. He has addressed professional groups on trial, litigation and arbitration related issues involving toxic tort, product liability, and insurance coverage issues.
