Mr. Tea is a complex commercial litigator who counsels and represents clients in a broad range of substantive areas of the law, including professional liability, internal investigations, labor and employment, business disputes, and intellectual property. He has litigated cases in federal and state courts across the country and has significant experience with various forms of alternative dispute resolution, including arbitrations, mediations and neutral evaluations. Mr. Tea also serves as Deputy General Counsel of the firm.

Mr. Tea has been a partner with K&L Gates since 2000. Prior to that he was an associate from 1992-1999.

Mr. Tea has represented professional services, high tech, manufacturing, energy, financial services, entertainment, health care, retail and real estate development companies in connection with claims involving:
  • professional liability;
  • trademark, service mark, trade dress, copyright and patent infringement, dilution, false advertising, misappropriation of trade secrets and cyber-squatting;
  • restrictive covenants, e.g., non-competes, non-solicitations and non-disclosure/confidentiality agreements;
  • post-deal disputes, e.g., earn-outs, buy-outs, hold-backs, breach of representations and indemnities;
  • lease disputes; and
  • fiduciary duties, fraud, libel/slander and other business torts.
