Alexis Paddock is an associate in the San Francisco office. She is a member of the firm’s investment management group and focuses on the area of alternative investments. She has experience advising a wide range of clients, including institutional investors.
In addition, Ms. Paddock has experience representing clients in a variety of derivatives transactions, and has frequently negotiated derivatives documentation in the context of broader lending transactions. She has advised clients on derivatives regulatory and compliance issues, particularly those arising under the Commodity Exchange Act and related Commodity Futures Trading Commission rules and regulations.
Ms. Paddock also has experience representing clients in secondary market loan transactions.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Paddock practiced for over two years in the Washington, D.C. office of an international law firm. During that time, she was seconded to a global investment bank’s New York branch where she represented the bank in derivatives transactions. Before entering private practice, Ms. Paddock held teaching positions at Georgetown University Law Center and the Peking University School of Transnational Law, where she created and taught academic writing and legal practice courses to LL.M. students and first- and second-year J.D. students, respectively.
