K&L Gates Continues Decade-long Commitment as Title Sponsor of Corporate Counsel Women of Color’s Annual Career Strategies Conference

21 September 2015
New York - For the 10th consecutive year, global law firm K&L Gates LLP will serve as the Title Sponsor of Corporate Counsel Women of Color’s (CCWC) Annual Career Strategies Conference, taking place Sept. 23-25 at the Downtown Atlanta Marriott Marquis.

Since CCWC’s inception — during which time its membership has grown from 40 to now more than 3,300 globally — K&L Gates partners have worked closely with the organization’s leadership to drive value-added content that continues to attract the law firms and corporations supportive of CCWC’s vision. At this year’s annual conference, K&L Gates partners will lead or participate in several sessions, including a “General Counsel Roundtable: Effective Law Department Management and How to Develop a Best-in-Class Law Department.”

“K&L Gates believed in the CCWC concept when it was just a thought on paper,” said Laurie Robinson Haden, Corporate Counsel Women of Color Founder & CEO. “The firm has been with us from the beginning, and its support has been a key propeller to helping CCWC expand its programming into what it is today.”

Paul W. Sweeney, administrative partner of K&L Gates’ Los Angeles office, chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee, and a member of K&L Gates’ Management Committee, stated: “We are proud to be affiliated with CCWC and its flagship conference. As a global law firm, we appreciate the organization’s commitment to furthering global diversity in the workplace and providing women of color the resources necessary to advance their careers.”
